Huge transit announcement tomorrow.

I don’t want to jump the gun before any real details are released. Besides, as Keith Baldrey says in his report below, there hasn’t been any leaks so to speak - he’s more… connecting the dots. Have more tomorrow on this.
UPDATE: The announcement is at 10:30 AM. Check back here shortly after for full details and analysis.

I haven’t watched the video yet but Jeff O’Neil was grumbling about sucky transit on the radio this morning. That’s when I heard about the coming announcement. CKNW reports Falcon might announce Skytrain to Langley “within the next ten years” … yeah that’s great. And where did the idea of Skytrain over the Port Mann come from?
The devil is in the details. Better than before (which wouldn’t be hard) but look at the time lines- too far in the future:12-20 years. …and these time lines are bound to be pushed back further: no plan is ever completed more quickly than envisioned. So, Kev- let me get this straight: if she’s very lucky, a Vancouver child in kindergarten today will have the privilege of riding Sky Train to UBC in time for her university graduation? For this the masses should be grateful? This is not the best that we can do: how come we put the Olympics plans together in much less time?
