FluMist means no more needles! Exactly what I’ve been demanding for the last decade. It’s actually quite surprising how much better a nasal spray works then the normal injection. I wonder how many other traditional needle applications will find other, more effective transmission into our bodies.
It’s time for proportional representation. We want each and every single vote to count. Apparently NZ has had it since ‘93! I’m telling ya, Canada’s been less progressive in this millennium. It’s time to catch up to those Scandanavian countries, and this is the first step. It’s like always having a miority government, but forcing the parties to make it work!
BC not only wants a conversation on health, but also wants students thoughts on education. I’ve applied, and we’ll see if I get in.
Unschooling keeps churning. I can’t help but think that many more students would drop out if they knew they could. I’m keeping this thought at the back of my head for now. Don’t wanna start a revolution ;)
Even Steve Jobs thinks unions are bad; keeping those terrible teachers employed. I agree, and I disagree, but it’s always interesting to hear what Jobs’ has to say on any particular subject, especially when it’s one as important as education. Maybe he’ll start donating his money towards better schools, like his old nemesis has been doing for a while now.
I didn’t realize how progressive New Brunswick actually is. They are Canada’s only officially bilingual province, and were the first to adopt more social reforms. Now, with a 38 yr old Premier, they are trying to jump start the province into the knowledge-based economy. One piece of the puzzle: Self-sustainability.
Should youth be forcing our governments to protect what will be our future? It’s an interesting thought isn’t it.
And if we do survive global warming, war, discrimination, and globalisation, we’ll be on our way to a Space Odyssey; or so says Michio Kaku (just discovered him; a great scientist!)
