Clean city no more

This picture is obviously a bit old, since the B-Line stop isn’t there, AFAIK. But damn, since when has Burrard Station ever been that clean?!?! It looks so new, doesn’t it?! I wonder if it’s actually from back in the 80′s…

  1. It’s pictures like this that helped me pick Vancouver for an research project for a planning theories class. Sure beats studying the concrete jungle that is Toronto.

  2. Yup, my guess would be early 80s. Judging by the cars on the street they all look like early late 70s/early 80s models.

This was probably taken right around the grand opening.

  3. Judging by all the buses with rounded front ends (like the ones I occasionally ride here in Burnaby with brown carpet on the seats), I’d say definitely a time prior to our own…

  4. I think I might see the General Lee in that photo, so it musta been taken sometime after Dukes of Hazzard was cancelled in 1985 ;)

  5. I guess the jury’s in and the photo must be from the 80′s. It makes me want Translink power wash the whole thing down to look so shiny again…

And, Mike, Burrard is way better, IMO, than Granville.
